Because this person so commented :

and betanews team did not accept the first link .

Help me to fix this small mess , just to shut_up some mouth Bild

I am using your filter with peerblock (the new peerguardian) for better efficiency; peerblock protects the entire system not just the client and it's highly optimized for speed & memory usage.

The only problem is that you are blocking the 0.0.0.0-0.255.255.255 range which causes problems with DHCP broadcast messages from 0.0.0.0:68 to 255.255.255.255:67 which lead to connection problems. Naturally these won't appear in regular client usage since the client doesn't broadcast DHCP queries and I _am_ fixing this on my end by adding a white list for that range, but I wonder what is the benefit of blocking this particular range. Why should it be blocked ?

Thanks for your time and thanks for your work.

As you know the connection to an emule server get an ID utilizing the ip address .
The ID identifies your client with the others and the server .
So the ed2k protocol establishes a connection btw the ed2k servers and the ID .
Having the client port configured for emule blocked by a firewall or isp problems many of you know that the ed2k server assigns a Low ID : so the ed2k server could use an ip btw 0.0.0.0 to 0.255.255.255.
I understand that using Peerblock people could get some problem .
Well we could remove this range in next ipfilterX version , it's not a big deal .
